Commercial Banker I Location Benton, IL : Job Title: Commercial Banker I - Mt. Vernon, IL or Benton, IL Job Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary/Objective

The Commercial Banker I is responsible for originating, underwriting, closing and servicing new and existing commercial loans in the Illinois market. Responsibilities will also include developing new deposit accounts and providing referrals to other fee income areas of the Bank.

Essential Functions

  • Manage an existing commercial and consumer portfolio as assigned.
  • Maintain current beneficial loan relationships and seek additional financing opportunities with existing customers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the bank's current credit policies and procedures, as well as the loan policy.
  • Initiates Commercial Real Estate loans following the Bank's credit policies and procedures. Loans will typically range from $50,000 to $500,000.
  • Attend weekly past due, Business Development Officer and bank loan approval committee meetings, as well as the monthly loan committee meeting.
  • Complete a weekly pipeline report to be discussed during the weekly Business Development Officer meeting.
  • Complete all required forms, including but not limited to, Classified Asset Status Reports, as needed for regulatory or internal reporting purposes.
  • Utilizes sales management training and tools to identify and refer current and prospective clients.
  • Perform collection activities on existing and future commercial and consumer credits as needed. To include both customer and bank legal counsel Prospect for clients independently by utilizing referral sources, existing customers, and centers of influence.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing an environment of open and authentic communication.
  • Adhere to all Legence Bank and AFMFS standards, serving as an example to other team members, as well as to our customers.
  • Represent and promote the Company within the community through participation in bank sponsored events, philanthropic opportunities and civic events.

Supervisory Responsibility

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to quickly learn new software
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1 Year Current Banking Experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3 years of Current Banking or Loan Experience
