What You’ll Do:

As the Controller, you’ll be the financial backbone of the organization, overseeing everything from day-to-day accounting and grants management to strategic budgeting, audits, compliance, and team leadership. You’ll work directly with the CFO and senior leadership to keep the organization fiscally strong and mission-aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee budgeting, cash flow, and grant reporting
• Ensure GAAP compliance and nonprofit regulatory reporting
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Partner with HR on payroll and benefits compliance
• Manage audits, the 990, and restricted vs. unrestricted funds
• Drive process improvements and internal controls
• Represent finance in board and committee meetings
• Supervise departmental staff by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and supporting development to         ensure efficient workflow.
• Prepare and manage grant and billing packets, ensuring accuracy, compliance with funding requirements,          and timely submission to internal and external stakeholders.

Who You Are:

• A mission-aligned finance leader who sees the bigger picture behind the numbers
• Detail-oriented and strategic, with a strong command of nonprofit accounting and compliance
• Proactive and solutions-driven, always thinking a few steps ahead
• A clear communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insight
• Experienced in managing and mentoring accounting teams with a collaborative leadership style
• Passionate about maximizing impact through fiscal responsibility
• Comfortable navigating grant reporting, audits, payroll, and budget planning
• Thrive in fast-paced environments where your work directly supports families and community well-being
• Inspired by purpose, and ready to be a steady, trusted partner to leadership

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit a plus!)
• A strategic, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
• Experience managing staff and juggling multiple priorities
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with Finance Edge or         similar financial management software is a plus.
• A genuine passion for service and community impact

Tip: You’ll thrive if you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and building systems that improve the lives of real families every day.

Compensation & Perks:

• Competitive Salary: $90K–$130K/year DOE
• Robust Benefits Package: Medical, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan
• Generous Time Off: Holidays, vacation, and sick leave
