About Mid Hudson Energy Transition
Mid-Hudson Energy Transition (MHET) is a nonprofit rooted in energy justice, equity, and community ownership. Our mission is to empower communities to own and share renewable energy, create healthier buildings, and join in community wealth building to strengthen the resilience of the Hudson Valley in the face of climate change.
Our Home Upgrade Grants (HUG) program provides no-cost energy efficiency and electrification upgrades—like insulation, heat pumps, and electric stoves—to low-income households in Kingston, NY. We pair climate solutions with care, making sure every participant feels informed, supported, and respected along the way.
About the role
MHET is hiring a full-time Project Coordinator to help move energy efficiency, health and safety, and renewable energy projects forward and ensure a positive, trusted experience for every participant. This is a people-first, field-forward role: you’ll attend audits and installations, call participants to guide them through the process, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with contractors and internal staff to keep projects on track.
This role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn about building decarbonization. You don’t need to be an expert yet (we’ll train you), but you must bring initiative, empathy, and a commitment to equity.
You’ll work alongside our Energy Efficiency Specialist and Program Managers to deliver high-quality, justice-centered upgrades in people’s homes.
