Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled and organized Property Accountant to join our team in Newport Beach, California. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to work with a portfolio of commercial and industrial office properties. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring seamless accounting operations. Responsibilities: - Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and industrial office properties. - Generate tenant rent invoices and accurately apply payments received. - Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure timely vendor payments. - Prepare and post journal entries for individual property financials. - Collaborate with the property management team to review and reconcile financial statements. - Assist with month-end and year-end close activities for property accounting. - Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. - Maintain detailed documentation and financial records for assigned properties. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate. - Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise or other property management accounting software. - Strong understanding of accrual accounting and general ledger maintenance. - Ability to manage multiple properties and maintain accurate financial records. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Familiarity with Yardi software is a plus.
